The site of the former streetcar depot in Burgernziel, canton of Berne, will be home to a neighborhood featuring a day nursery, a school (Basisstufe), a neighborhood restaurant, a Migros branch and other commercial premises. The residential and commercial building will be built to the Minergie-ECO standard and certified “Site 2000 Watts”. It will feature solar panels and comfort ventilation. Heating, provided by 40 geothermal probes, will be entirely carbon-neutral and controlled by the eSMART building automation system. The apartments will be equipped with the eSMART-building package, which provides access to building functions such as videophony, heating, lighting and blinds via a touchscreen in the living room or from the Smartphone application. The screen also displays electricity, heating and hot water consumption in real time, informing occupants of their energy consumption.
If you’d also like to promote awareness of the economical use of resources, joint activities and contact between residents and their neighborhood, contact us to find out more about the eSMART solution.
