In a nutshell
The eSMART solution is now installed at the Thyon 2000 ski resort, perched at an altitude of 2,100 meters. The aim of this project was to modernize second homes located in the heart of an emblematic ski area, while preserving the existing heating system.
Our approach
Thyon 2000 is located 24 km from Sion and is part of the famous 4 Vallées ski area (Thyon, Verbier, Nendaz, Veysonnaz) with 412 km of pistes and 92 lifts. The car-free resort is designed with families and nature lovers in mind.
The site enjoys exceptional sunshine and offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Dent-Blanche, the Matterhorn, the Rhone Valley and the Grande Dixence dam.
The eSMART Z-Wave technology was chosen to fit perfectly into the apartments of these second homes. This technology enables remote control of the heating system while keeping the old installation. Installed with the eSMART-Plug system inside a junction box, the eSMART Z-Wave module communicates with the radiator’s thermostatic head, using Z-Wave technology. This is the Z-Wave radio protocol designed for home automation (lighting, heating, opening sensors, etc.).
Z-Wave communicates using low-power radio technology in the 868.42 MHz frequency band, and is designed specifically for home automation applications. Z-Wave can be easily integrated into consumer electronics products, including battery-operated devices such as remote controls, smoke detectors and security sensors.
